Colossus was constructed on April 14th 1943, among others,
by Max Newman, Tommy Flowers and Alan Turing.
in the British Centre for cryptographic Bletchley Park (80 kilometers north of London)
It was intended primarily for military applications.

Although it was built in the same years as the ENIAC
quite a long time was unknown because of the secrecy of the whole project.
